Important projects for Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit will be completed

With the main purpose of following up the projects with which they will work in the area this year 2019. The governor of Nayarit, Antonio Echevarría, together with the mayor of Bahía de Banderas, Jaime Cuevas, and his officials in matters of security, tourism and planning, met last Tuesday, January 15, with the Asociacion de Empresarios de Punta de Mita y Riviera Nayarit ADEPM.

The meeting began with a few words by the President of the Asociacion de Empresarios de Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit (ADEPM), Jason Lavender, with which he acknowledged that thanks to the support of this state and municipal administration has been able to advance in the development of projects and programs that benefit the region and that also seek to achieve orderly and responsible urban growth. They will also allow improving infrastructure and connectivity, which represents a very important need for the tourist destination.

Currently it is a priority of the government and the private sector to safeguard the security of the area, so for more than a year they have been working on a project to build a naval base in Punta de Mita, which will allow the municipality to be protected with support from the Secretary of the Navy.

With regard to the protection of the environment and its natural resources, the aim is to promote a partial plan for urban development, since the one that currently governs the region has been in place since 2002. Through the IMPLAN, the municipality has been preparing the necessary studies, which have already launched a proposal, which will be ready soon to go for public consultation. The goal is to seek sustainability and resilience for such an important world-class destination, as well as creating an identity for the Bahía de Banderas region.

Captain Martín Pérez Sánchez, of the SEMAR, continued with the presentation of the advances of the Advanced Naval Station Type B for Punta de Mita with Jurisdiction in the municipality of Compostela Nayarit.

“Currently we have worked for 1 year and a half in the project of the Naval Station, the Secretary of the Navy in conjunction with the ADEPM. Up to now the requirements requested by the authority as well as FONATUR have been met, it should be noted that the resources must be approved by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, which will be an investment of the state, municipal and business sectors”.

In conjunction with the Naval Station project, the initiative for a security camera project for the Riviera Nayarit network was presented. This is by a video surveillance company that currently offers this service to other states of the Republic such as Chihuahua and Guanajuato.

The objective is to gather efforts from the Government, Employers and Citizens for the identification of incidents, as well as to increase security measures, attention to emergencies and civil protection in the region.

The company offers the acquisition of video cameras to entrepreneurs and anyone interested in acquiring them, at an accessible cost, with the aim that the urban area is under surveillance by the C4 (Command, Control, Communication and Computation Center). The main idea is to create a network of cameras throughout the municipality for surveillance and observation to safeguard the citizenship. This proposal will be subject to analysis by the State Government for the viability of the project.

Sustainable and resilient development for Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit

Punta de Mita seeks growth with a projection to 20 years

The objective is to attract investment without affecting the added value of the area

Dr. Beatriz Martinez, director of IMPLAN, argued that the Punta Mita region is characterized by the richness of its natural resources, which have been affected and put at risk before the authorization of projects that endanger the region due to the use of soil since some are considered protected forests and buffer forests. This has affected the surplus value of the area, this being one of the main focuses of attention for Mayor Jaime Alonso Cuevas and the ADEPM. It seeks to control the urban development of the region, taking care that the value of the property increases since the objective is the attraction of investment by developers of international stature without affecting the surplus value of the region.

For her part Ana Cecilia Llanos, Secretary of Tourism Nayarit  highlighted important statistics in Bahía de Banderas:

Jaime Cuevas, the municipal president of Bahía de Banderas thanked the participation and support of the governor and the ADEPM. “With this coordinated work we will achieve the security that our municipality requires, we are focused on the intense work by Bahía de Banderas for a better NAYARIT, where the commitment and excellent communication that we have all the sectors involved will allow us to achieve great advances in team”.

The decree as a sustainable development area has the momentum of the State. Currently the State Plan for Waste Management has been recognized nationally and has been taken as a model in the country. We will add efforts for the improvement and growth of the development of our municipality and thus offer a safe and sustainable tourist destination.

The Governor remained very receptive to the proposals received, manifested that Punta Mita and Riviera Nayarit have the willingness of their authorities to achieve sustainable development, today we are working directly the federal, state, and municipal governments, also the different secretaries of government such as the Secretary of the Navy of Mexico, Tourism, among others, and the Asociacion de Empresarios de Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit, with the same objective of progressing and maintaining Punta de Mita and the Riviera as the destination of excellence what it is today.
