Alarming situation with water in Bahia de Banderas
Business sector seeks to undertake actions to supply water in Bahia de Banderas.
The lack of water is a global concern, in Bahia de Banderas there has been a historical context of droughts in different areas, affecting communities in the municipality. The lack of water seriously impacts the economic sector of a region.
The bad news is, if we don’t take real action right away, we don’t expect a promising future. The same happens with the neighboring municipality of Puerto Vallarta.
Since 2019, ADEPM has worked to make the necessary links to promote with the state government of Nayarit and the federal government a project that will supply water to the entire municipality of Bahia de Banderas, from Jarretaderas to Marcos.
The lack of water in Bahia de Banderas, a problem for the region’s economy
In addition, it has joined forces with organizations and associations of the municipality of Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta such as: Amapas Neighborhood Association, The International Friendship Club, The AMPI real estate group and CUC Puerto Vallarta. To work on the implementation of social awareness programs on:
- Conservation and care of water
- Drinking water
- Sanitation
- A safe bay
Currently, work is being done to obtain a transparent plan for both municipalities and their agencies in charge SEAPAL and OROMAPAS, in order to know the real needs for water supply and sanitation. And with this set of goals for each program.
