5th edition of the “Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit”, the most important tourism forum in Latin America.
In Cancun, Q. Roo, the 5th edition of the “Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit” was held, in which the ADEPM was present.
After four days of intense activities and with the celebration of Mesoamerican Reef Day, 150 attendees and almost 400 connected online, collaboration agreements were signed with public and private entities to promote sustainability, various conferences and panels were held, delivering awards to companies that completed the process of implementation of Good Practices of Sustainable and Social Tourism. This forum also had the participation of the Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués, ADEPM gave him a letter, expressing its appreciation for the work and the effort of the FEDERAL SECTUR, through the General Directorate of Sustainable Tourism Management of the Secretariat itself, to conclude with the process of the Presidential Declaration of the Sustainable Tourism Development Zone of Destiladeras – Punta de Mita.
The ADEPM also had several persona lreunions with Mtro. César Daniel González Madruga, general director of the Sustainable Tourism Organization of SECTUR, to whom this recognition was also extended.
Sustainable tourism seeks to refocus tourism activity and help ensure a balance between the benefits for visitors and local communities, as well as the responsibilities inherent to the environment and the tourist destinations themselves. Creating a sustainable and friendly business model which collaborates with the planet should be the number one priority of all industries.
