Projects 2019 for Puerto Vallarta Airport

In an interview with the Director of the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta, Saul Ernesto Sanabria, commented: That in 2019 will conclude the five-year investment and projects of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico, GAP; giving way in 2020, to a new scheme in which construction of a totally new terminal building is already contemplated  as a reality.

This project promises to improve the conditions of traffic and airline offerings since it considers that the growth will be 50 percent of what is currently available at the Airport. That is, there are currently 20 positions for airplanes, with the new building there will be 8 to 9 extra positions. In addition, it will have an expansion in its facilities, since the construction will be around 35 thousand to 40 thousand square meters, which represents twice the size of what is currently available.

It is important to point out that from 2011 to date; there has been an interesting and encouraging growth for the tourism sector, even in some cases exceeding the projections estimated for that year.

At the end of 2018 there was an accumulated increase of 9.6 percent in the number of seats. As for the number of passengers, the accumulated grew 32 percent. The goal for this new “investment five-year-period” is to receive 5 million passengers.

The construction of this new building will begin in 2020; the estimated time for its completion is 3 to 4 years. This investment does not yet have exact figures on what will be its final cost, but it is a reality that from next year the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta, that also serves the Riviera Nayarit and much of the Costalegre de Jalisco will have more breadth and more offer for the destination.
