Advanced Naval Station Punta de Mita

As from February 5 2022, ADEPM has reached an agreement to protect and safeguard the security of the Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit area. It  met with José Nicolás Aguayo Ramírez. Vice Admiral C G DEM 8 Naval Zone. and Jorge Manuel Sainz Zamora. Vice Admiral C G DEM 6 Naval Zone San Blas. In addition, Juan Echeagaray Becerra, Secretary General of the Government of the State of Nayarit, participated. The objective is to continue with the construction project of an Advanced Naval Station Punta de Mita.

Going back to 2017, the ADEPM had proposed to initiate the necessary strategies and mechanisms, which would lead to obtaining the wills, and thus manage to maintain the security of Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit with the support of the (SEMAR) Navy of Mexico. The project evolved until FONATUR ceded its complex to the donation of two plots of land from the (CIP) INTEGRALLY PLANNED CENTER OF LITIBU, so that the construction of this (ENA) Advanced Naval Station could take place there.

After  a number of meetings between the state government of Nayarit, the municipal government of Bahía de Banderas, the Secretary of the Navy and the private sector of Punta de Mita and Riviera Nayarit, represented by the ADEPM. They signed a collaboration agreement to build an Advanced Naval Station Type B (ENA) in the region of Punta de Mita.

The main reason for doing this is that, they will have the support, attention and presence of elements of the Navy (SEMAR) in the most important tourist destination in Nayarit, the Riviera Nayarit.

In the last meeting, the previously signed agreement with the new Marine authorities of the region and the current Secretary General of Nayarit was discussed and reviewed. The purpose is to find a way, on how, to achieve the project and have the area covered.  A follow-up meeting will be held in the coming days to give continuity to the agreement and follow the progress in the security matter.
