Naval Station in Punta de Mita, the best option to guarantee safety in the bay

Naval Station in Punta de Mita – ENA

In the month of March ADEPM had the opportunity to travel to Mexico City to hold a meeting with the Federal Government authorities with the intention of continuing with the construction of the Naval Station in Punta de Mita with acronyms ENA, which will protect the Riviera Nayarit including the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas and Compostela.

The ADEPM together with the Municipal President of Bahía de Banderas,  Dr. Jaime Cuevas, and the State Secretary of Tourism, Eulalio Coronado, met with the general director of FONATUR, Miguel Alonso Reyes, and the Secretary of the Armed Forces of Mexico, with the purpose of analyzing the way to continue and complete the process to obtain in donation of the previously analyzed and selected lands in the CIP of Litibu for this purpose, “to Build a Naval Station in Punta de Mita and with this provide greater security to the Riviera Nayarit”.

It is now federal in nature to conclude this donation process. In addition, the different scenarios that will allow achieving this project were analyzed and the legal process that must be covered to achieve was defined.

In the first instance, the process must be started from the legal bases, so the first action is to divest the land selected from the condominium regime of the Litibu CIP, and then submit the proposal to the technical committee, which is made up of Federal Institutions as SECTUR, Treasury, Public Function, SEMARNAT, PROFEPA, who through a voting system will define the donation to SEMAR.

The Secretary of the Navy proposed a delegation composed of technicians specialized in the subject to carry out an in-depth and exhaustive analysis of the site in order to confirm that the previously selected land has the characteristics and conditions that the type of building requires. This analysis will be carried out in the first days of April, hoping to comply with the times and deadlines defined for this project.

Having this Naval Station is of deep interest for ADEPM, so the Association proposed to serve as a facilitator to create all the necessary conditions and resources that this project demands and that also allows us to continue to perceive the security that we have today in the Riviera Nayarit.
