Do you know what the interstate committee of clean beaches is?
In April 2003, the National Information System on Water Quality in Mexican Beaches was initiated through the joint efforts of the Secretariats of Marine, Environment and Natural Resources, Health and Tourism. Throughout that year, it was possible to systematize and homogenize the monitoring of seawater, according to the criteria described by the World Health Organization (WHO) for recreational contact sea waters.
Currently, the state health authorities, following the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and in coordination with this, conduct the sampling and analysis of water in each of the 17 coastal states of Mexico.
It is the federal governmental organization that seeks to verify the beaches of the municipalities of both states of Jalisco and Nayarit. It also promotes actions that favor beaches that comply with the parameters of water cleaning and with them providing security and adequate conditions for visitors and to maintain the flora and fauna of the region.
At the LXXXI regular session of clean beaches the ADEPM had the honor of attending and requested that the entity of Sayulita joined this committee since this place is part of the Municipality and its tourist development is of great importance for the region. This proposal of adding Sayulita to the committee was accepted during the session.
