The federal government was asked to ALLOCATE AN EMERGING ECONOMIC FUND, with these resources tourism promotion will be carried out.

Recently, SECTUR Federal launched a digital promotion strategy with a resource of 150 million pesos to promote Mexico. Compared to the numbers reported by the OVC and OCV of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitor Offices, who are dedicated to carry out this promotion, 150 mp are insufficient resources for the promotion of our region. SECTUR asked the states and regional trusts to allocate a part of their budget to this digital promotion. In the case of Bahía de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, they have a very limited budget, since as they do not receive tourism in the destination, they are not receiving resources for the promotion either.

According to the experience with H1N1, at that time the decision that was made was to make a joint promotion called Vallarta – Nayarit. In which the funds of both trusts of Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit were united. In it the Federal Government contributed an equal part for the promotion of the region. It is for this reason that the request made to the Federal Congress of Mexico resources in the same way as it was successfully done in the past.

In order to reactivate the tourism of national and foreign visitors, it will be necessary to have the capacity to carry out “Rapid Tests to avoid COVID-19 infections”. For this reason, the federal government must tender a supplier that can supply these tests in an economical way; currently they already exist in the market, but so far there is no government agreement with any manufacturing company.

It was also requested to review the bases and strategies of fiscal support to the business sector, micro, medium and large companies, since it is a triggering factor for the recovery of the destination. This support is very important since all companies depend on it, in order to keep its operation, keep its workforce and be able to continue generating job sources.
