Children and the environment in Mita Bonita

Mita Bonita is a group of children occupied for the environment. Organized by María they go out to the streets to clean and recycle all the trash that does so much damage and is taking the planet to the edge of collapse.

They are a group of children occupied by the environment of Punta de Mita

They are mostly children from 9 to 15 years who meet to keep their home clean and do so for the great reward of contributing to have a place to live for their future. They have managed to organize 100 children, with the support of their parents; teachers and the community in general, are the responsible for cleaning their streets and ask whoever transits do the same.

During the weekends they do a general cleaning in the town, without sufficient and adequate tools, they just take their bag and go out to fill it with all the waste that others leave there. The day lasts around 4 hours in which no complaints are heard but only cheers and smiles. Regardless of their young age, they have managed to organize so that, in addition to cleaning their streets, the waste they are lifting is recycled.

At the end of the day they meet to hydrate and share some food, in addition to participate in a raffle in which a local business has been able to contribute, this time, ice cream for 10 of the kids, and a “smothie” for 5 others.

The ADEPM and Fundacion Punta de Mita AC, supports actions like this, so we will be adding to this organization in order to join efforts in their strategies and plans. Support so that good actions continue and Punta de Mita is also under the care of its people today and tomorrow.
